We are a Dutch-speaking Christian congregation, but part of God’s world-wide church. While our languages may be different, we can share in the Gospel of Christ.
We believe in God, who has made Himself known to us in His Word, the Bible. We believe in God the Father, the Creator of heaven and earth. We believe in Jesus Christ, His Son, who came into the world to take our sins upon Himself. We believe in the Holy Spirit, who renews our life.
If you’re not so familiar with Christianity, the above may not yet mean much to you. We encourage you to find out more, by getting in touch with us or with other Christians.
If you are a Christian yourself, you may know that much more can be said about what Christians believe. We will not try to summarize our faith on this simple webpage. But it may help you to know that we thankfully receive from previous generations the three ecumenical creeds, the Heidelberg Catechism, the Belgic Confession and the Canons of Dordt as summaries of the faith that we confess.
We are a congregation of about 250 members from Amstelveen and the surrounding areas, part of the Protestantse Kerk in Nederland. We meet every Sunday for worship, to praise God and hear His Word, and to meet and encourage each other. We try to help each other where we can, and to be of service to the world around us.
Our Sunday services
Feel free to attend one of our services (Sundays, 10:00 AM and 6:30 PM). We will be happy to welcome you. At the entrance you will find a brief guide in English guiding you through the order of the service. If you make yourself known as a guest (preferably in advance, otherwise at the door), we may be able to arrange for one of our members to provide some basic translation.
Our services follow the traditional protestant pattern and include congregational singing, prayer, Scripture reading and preaching. We seek to open our hearts and lives to God as we listen with reverence to His Word.
